As an independent public relations and brand strategist, Stefanie provides PR, marketing and communications counsel to regional, national and global brands. She helps organizations identify and engage with their target audience(s) to achieve business objectives through strategic, savvy public relations and communications campaigns.

Dr. Cara Rabe-Hemp
Associate Dean for the College of Applied Science and Technology
Cara Rabe-Hemp, PhD is the Associate Dean in the College of Applied Sciences and Technology at Illinois State University. An alum of Illinois State University, Rabe-Hemp is passionate about increasing the participation of women interested in male-dominated careers and co-sponsored the creation of Breaking Barriers, which was awarded the University’s Diversity Advocacy Award in 2010.In 2014, Rabe-Hemp was inducted into the College of Applied Sciences and Technology Academy of Achievement and in 2016 she was awarded the Outstanding Researcher Award. Rabe-Hemp’s research is focused in policing; specifically, she is interested in how diversity in policing affects police behavior, as well as opportunities in the field. She is the author of Thriving in an All Boys Club: Women Police and Their Fight for Equality and co-editor of Women Policing Across the Globe andPolitical Authority, Social Control, and Public Policy.
Most CAST graduates will be employed in male-dominated fields where opportunities for women are growing. Professor Rabe-Hemp dispels some of the common myths about the suitability of women in these fields through a frank conversation about the current realities surrounding pay, opportunity, and equity. Rabe-Hemp will examine the non-traditional careers opening for women, explore the personal and financial benefits of moving into these fields, and detail the resources helpful to navigating the male-dominated career path.

Christina Schulz is Associate Director of Business and Industry Solutions at Heartland Community where she enjoys leveraging her 20 years’ professional experience to help individuals grow professionally and evolve their organization’s culture. A champion for engaging and applicable learning, she previously traveled widely, serving an array of industries as a Hile Group consultant. Christina has been active in the Multicultural Leadership Program as a facilitator, mentor, and technical writer.
This presentation explores how organizations value individuals who make thoughtful decisions and set intentional goals and a 6-step process for making better work decisions. You will practice goal writing and be ready to implement an action plan for growth and advancement. By understanding the concepts of habit change and influence, you will take greater ownership of your goals. Walk away knowing how to make your goals both personally and professionally worthwhile.
