The Exercise Science minor is an academic program designed for students who wish to engage in the study of exercise science, but do not wish to major in Kinesiology. This program of study provides academic background for individuals desiring initial exposure to the various professions in the exercise science field and to those majoring in related fields such as nursing, health sciences, and dietetics.
Exercise Science is the study of movement and the associated functional responses and adaptations. A student studies how different exercises and fitness programs affect the human body and learns how to prepare athletes or injured individuals to reduce their risk of injury.
Minors can only be declared by current Illinois State students. Current students can use the Apply to Your Program tool on My.IllinoisState.edu.
Applications for the Exercise Science minor are currently not being accepted. For more information, please visit the minor site or contact the program advisor.
