Through classes and field training, Army ROTC provides you with the tools to become an Army Officer while you pursue a college degree.
The field of Military Science is the study of military capability, taking into consideration the political, economical, and strategic aspects, in both theoretical and applied situations, of the military.
Admission into the Military Science minor is by permission of the Department of Military Science chairperson following a special interview concerning eligibility and entry requirements. Interested students should make arrangement for an interview as early as possible, but not later than the second semester of their sophomore year. Students pursuing a commission in the U.S. Army are not required to complete the minor program of study.
Minors can only be declared by current Illinois State students. Current students can use the Apply to Your Program tool on My.IllinoisState.edu.
Applications for the Military Science minor are always being accepted.
