Occupational safety and health is all about protecting people from harm in the workplace. This includes anything from the structure of a building to a stressful work culture.
Safety mostly deals with prevention. A minor in occupational safety and health will help you identify hazards and prevent accidents from happening.
A foundation in occupational safety and health is important in many fields and will complement a wide range of majors, including environmental health, construction management, and others in technology, medical laboratory science, business programs, and chemistry.
Minors can only be declared by current Illinois State students. Current students can use the Apply to Your Program tool on My.IllinoisState.edu.
Applications for the Safety minor are always being accepted.
