In 2006, Yoon Jin Ma began teaching at ISU as an assistant professor of Apparel, Merchandising, and Design within the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Currently, she is an Associate Professor and also a Coleman Faculty Fellow.

Dr. Ma has been teaching undergraduate courses: Economics of fashion, Merchandising planning and control, and Advanced textiles. She is also teaching the graduate level courses: Introduction to Research Methodology and Statistics in Applied Science and Technology.
Social responsibility in the textile apparel industry including consumption, manufacturing, and retailing, consumer behavior, services marketing, and research methods.
