The (Faculty) Appointment, Salary, Promotion, and Tenure (or ASPT) system at Illinois State University prescribes policies and procedures related to probationary and tenured faculty members at the University. The system is intended to appoint, reward, and retain a highly competent faculty through a democratic system that involves faculty in the evaluation of professional competence. ASPT policies applicable to probationary and tenured faculty in all academic units at the University are set forth in the Faculty Appointment, Salary, Promotion, and Tenure Policies document. Please see the Provost's website for the ASPT document.
The Faculty Appointment, Salary, Promotion, and Tenure (ASPT) system at Illinois State University consists of standards and review bodies at three levels: university, college, and department/school. University-wide policies provide a framework for the system. The university ASPT document is supplemented by policies on the college and department/school levels. Please see the Provost's website for the Department/School ASPT standards.
