Biography

Dr. Ashley Farmer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice Sciences. Originally from Kentucky, Dr. Farmer completed her Ph.D. at the University of Delaware in 2016. Her primary areas of research are in policing, specifically police-community relations, and how technology impacts this relationship. For example, her dissertation examined the reasons why citizens record the police, police officer responses to being recorded by the public, and police and public perceptions of body worn cameras. She has also researched pets and disasters, specifically evacuation and sheltering of companion animals.
